Space Band - S/T
Garage Rock,
Local Maryland private pressing. 1984. Garage Rock, Punk, Hard Rock, Prog Rock - calling this punk is a stretch but that tag was already on this in discogs. I just added the hard rock & prog because thats certainly more in line with this release. ====

Shanes - Let Me Tell Yah'
1st song on the A side is staright corny. 2nd song is a better pop tune. The B side starts to gain a we bit of steam with "too much for me" and it ends with an uptempo beatles type cornabll song about going bowling! lolz ====

Dream Police - I'll be Home (In A Day Or So) / Living Is Easy
A side is a pop tune with orchestation. Not bad but compared to the killer B side its pretty wimpy.... B side shreds! ===

Reign Ghost - S/T
interesting & slightly weird record. The vox is a bit much for me at times. a bit too operatic... I like it when the male and felame voices pair up a bit more. Music is still pretty enjoyable. Some fuzzy guitar and nice keys. Guitarist Bob Bryden went on to play in Chiistmas. A band which i enjoy a lot more than this 1968 psych pop lp.

Velvet Rush - Nobody Wants You / Run Away With Me
2 Rockers. A side is a bit more "radio friendly" AOR. B side is a bit "tougher" almost metal.... I can see this 45 getting air play in teh midwest in 83.... Maybe it did? Great 45 either way.
Velvet Rush - Nobody Wants You
Velvet Rush - Run Away With Mes
The Kruisers - C'Mon Sweet Baby / Karen
A side is a pretty crude riff on Bo Diddley.... I read somewhere that someone called it "punk". I wouldn't go that far but teenage ineptness comes to mind, which is fine by me. I LOVE that sort of thing. Couple kids in the garage that stole a few of Dad's Pabst Blue Ribbons and cranking up their Sears Silvertone guitars and amps and going for it. The flip is a try at a more pop sound but it still comes off as crude and teenage. Good single.

Country Aces - Last Letter / Going Out
The Chaparral Trio - Without You / Roxanne
Pretty crazy 45 here. Side A "With Out You" is a straight pop song. It sounds more like 64/65 than the heavy 1969 psych rocker that the B side "Roxanne" is. Doesn't even sound like the same band... Wish the B side went another 3 seconds of riffing guitar fuzz... B side RULES! ====
