Michael & The Messengers - Lifs (Don't Mean Nothin)

A cheap new addition to the devils music, Michael & The Messengers - Lifs (Lies?) (Don't Mean Nothin) on U.S.A. Records from 1967. The flip to this (Romeo and Juliet) was on the nuggets box. This side is worth the price of admission just for the out of tune moaning in the last half of the song. Amazing. I hope u all had a good holiday, whatever it is u celebrate. If i don't talk to you before then, have a happy new year. I sure hope 2014 is better for everyone....

I've been playing w/ my 80's & 90's 7 inches of late. Here is some pretty good grungy, punky rock & roll with a tinge of metal from Welcome Idiot on Italian label Electric Eye Records from 1991. How fitting that i am drinking red wine as i type this... Sorry if divshare sucks so much but hey, its free and i hardly know what i am doing here.... The Neighborhood - Why Can't You See - Calling All Girls

I've been sick in bed since Thanksgiving so i will make this brief. I Can't find anything about this group. I can't find a year it was put out or anything. "Why Can't You See" sounds sorta stuck between the mid/ late 60's and early 70's w/ a sorta poppy rock vibe. Sorta bubblegum, but a pretty good little tune. The "WOOO's" sound a bit doo-woppy. Like Frankie Valli or some shit.... both sides have good keys in the background and horns. Kinda hard to put my finger on it. And the flip sounds like a totally different group. It's a sorta slow rolling funky soul instrumental with lots of horns on this one. Anyone have any insight on this???

The Rocky Fellers - Ching-A-Ling Baby

Stanley Kahn discovered The Rocky Fellers, a pop/rock band in the 1960s, and signed them to Scepter Records. The group was composed of four Filipino brothers: Tony, Junior, Eddie, and Albert Maligmat, and their father, Doroteo "Moro" Maligmat. They had a hit single called "Killer Joe", written by Bert Russell and Bob Elgin in 1963. The song was inspired by famed dance instructor and "King of the Discotheque," Killer Joe Piro. It has many similarities to the chorus of the Mickey and Sylvia hit, "Love is Strange."

"Killer Joe" reached No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1963. They followed up with another Bob Elgin song called "Like the Big Guys Do". Among their other recordings was a Christmas novelty song, "Santa, Santa", written by a then-unknown songwriter, Neil Diamond. The Rocky Fellers also recorded another Neil Diamond song, "We Got Love" which is available on their LP, Killer Joe from 1963. The Rocky Fellers faded quickly from the music scene in the mid-1960s, due primarily to the arriving British Invasion bands.

Pickins have been slim around here for a while. i did get that twilights 45 a bit back but not much else of late. But i got this little 45 yesterday for 50 cents. Not a rare thing really but i nice addition to the Ike & Tina collection. This is from 1968 but sounds like 1964 to me.
