The Beacon Street Union - Blue Suede Shoes - Four Hundred and Five

The Beacon Street Union was a 1960s psychedelic era rock band, named for a street in their native Boston, whose original members were John Lincoln Wright (vocals, percussion), Paul Tartachny (guitar, vocals), Wayne Ulaky (bass, vocals), Robert Rhodes (keyboards, bass), and Richard Weisberg (drums). With the exception of a few rock standards, their diverse music was composed by group members, primarily Wright and Ulaky.
MGM Records promoted them as part of the so-called "Bosstown Sound" (along with the groups Ultimate Spinach and Orpheus), with little success. Their first album was released directly before Ultimate Spinach's first album. After two albums, Wright, Ulaky, Weisberg, and Rhodes recorded an album as Eagle. Later in the 1970s, Wright went on to write and sing country music as leader of the Sour Mash Boys. The first Beacon Street Union album charted at #75 on May 4 of 1968.

A cool fuzzy guitar driven version of Blue Suede Shoes from the Beacon Street Union and a flip that, well, kinda has to be heard...
It actually sounds as if it being played at the wrong speed but the 45 says "45 R.P.M." I've included a version @ 33 RPM's so you can be the judge...

Safe to say that by 1968 these cats were "experimenting" w/ more than music...?

Le Face - Boys & Girls - Dancing In Anxiety - Pull My Trigger

Its nice to know that people are still making fucked up music in this day and age when almost everything sucks coperate MTV cock. This is one of the better new punk bands i have heard recently but I know nothing about this band, i hear rumors of being banned from bars across LA which is fine with me. Their brand of snotty post punk noise sits fine in my ears. and any band that can sneak a swastika and a star of david on their 45 label is ok w/ me. Couple that with cool swirl vinyl, hand silk screened cover and a limited release of 150, and the fact that i only paid 2 dollars for this, i'm all in... Anyone know anything about these people?

Slavescene - Fuck Off Away From Me - Shit Gait

Two brutally obnoxious tunes from slavescene. But when is obnixious for the skae of being obnoxious too much? never... imho.

But this one pushes the envelope pretty far. These are about as far as you can go without coming back. ever...

I figure this shit may alienate a few people out there but as much as i love you all i do do this for me above all else... and i love this shit.

Offs - Everyone's A Bigot - 0°

The Offs are a punk/ska band from San Francisco, started by guitarist Billy Hawk and singer Don Vinil, and later joined by Bob Steeler on drums and a rotation of horn players including Bob Roberts, Richard Edson and Roland Young. The Offs were major players in the early days of the San Francisco punk rock scene. Their first record was a self-released 7" single featuring a cover of the Slickers' "Johnny Too Bad" with the Billy Hawk-penned "624803" on the B-side. Subsequent releases include the singles "Everyone's a Bigot" (which appeared on the Alternative Tentacles hardcore/art punk compilation Let Them Eat Jellybeans and "You Fascinate Me." Lead singer Don Vinil was known for his outrageous on-stage behavior. Fellow San Francisco punk group, Dead Kennedys had their first show with the Offs in 1978. They frequently played at San Francisco's famed Mabuhay Gardens.
The Offs also went through a number of bassists, including Denny Boredom, Olga de Volga and Fast Floyd. Eric Peterson joined as bassist in 1980, just as the group decamped San Francisco for New York where they quickly became a regular fixture at such New York institutions as the Mudd Club, Danceteria and Max's Kansas City.

Wire - Dot Dash - Option R

Wire are an English rock band, formed in London in October 1976 by Colin Newman (vocals, guitar), Graham Lewis (bass, vocals), Bruce Gilbert (guitar), and Robert Gotobed (drums). They were originally associated with the punk rock scene, appearing on the Live at the Roxy WC2 album—a key early document of the scene—and were later central to the development of post-punk.
Inspired by the burgeoning UK punk scene, Wire are often cited as one of the more important rock groups of the 1970s and 1980s. Critic Stewart Mason writes, "Over their brilliant first three albums, Wire expanded the sonic boundaries of not just punk, but rock music in general."

This is their 3rd single from 1978. Originally this came w/ a nice picture sleeve but sadly mine is missing.... but the tunes are still great.

Some good stuff came out in the late 80's contrary to popular beleif. Here is Fearless Leader from 1989 w/ 2 great SLEAZY Glammy Stooges/MC5/Detroit influenced guitar rockers. I mean just look at these scum bags on the back. It SCREAMS ROCK AND ROLL!!! Sorta like "The Fluid" but more WILD!

I don't know much about these guys but this record was recorded by one time Vox Pop/Angry Samoan Jeff Dahl. Cool.

The Planets - Hold On - Deep Inside

Ok, here is some unknown "CITY ROCK".... C'mon Termbo peeps. Does this make the grade?

Up until recently i had no idea WTF city rock was or is. I'm still sorta confused. I'd like ya'll to help me out here!?!?

If this aint city rock i don't know what is....??? Just look at these guys with their fur lined denim & leather jackets, mutsaches, shaggy beards, glasses, flip flops & hush puppies.... they look like they just got off work down at the local factory and are headed to the local bar for some cocaine and michelob. Gonna get laid for sure tonight too. They got some fat momma's waiting on the bar stool. Later on they are gonna bust out their axes and jam the night away! And you gotta have some balls to name your band "The Planets"... I mean why not just call yourselves "The Universe" or GOD...
Planets are pretty big...

There is no information on the back of this 45, its just blank so i don't even have knows for these shaggy pups. But I'm sure its like Bill, Joe, Mike & Bob.... I've been tempted to write the adress of the front and see if i get a response...

Anyway, these 2 rockers are pretty decent with some nice guitar work. Check them out and leave me a comment damn it!

Howard Werth - Obsolete - Mango Man

Yes this record as seen better days... the cover is a little beat up and the vinyl a few clicks but i just found this at a garage sale and only for a buck. These Dangerhouse singles don't turn up so often in the wild so for one dollar this was a bargin, water stained cover and all. ok, so it's not the dils, weirdos, bags or avengers but still.... it was only a dollar! anyway, obsolete really is a great guitar driven punky ROCK song. And that makes sense since Mr. Werth was a one time member of Audience, who were cult British art rock band which existed between 1969 and 1972.

Punishment Of Luxury - Puppet Life - The Demon

Some pretty tight punky progy metal-ish tunes from 1978... Check out that DOOM breakdown in The Demon @ around 2:26 and tell me these guys never listened to Black Sabbath. I originally bought a copy of this in the early 80's and have no idea where that copy went. I turned this one up a while back and glad i did... This is some cool stuff right here. The pics on the back always reminded me of the Alex Harvey Band.... I never owned the LP from 1979 but here is a vid of a different version of Puppet Life... Still heavier than your average punk...!

Pure Hell - These Boots Are Made For Walking - No Rules

Today i give you the 1st all black punk band Pure Hell:

Established in Philadelphia in 1974, during the flashpoint of the punk culture in New York City, London and Los Angeles. Pure Hell was the first all-Black punk band.

Amid the pioneers of the post garage, acid rock, glam-theatre era of the late 60's/early 70's, Pure Hell are considered one of the first of their kind, comparable to the Sex Pistols, Dead Boys, The Germs. Commercially, the band had little success, and only released this one single. There was an album recorded that was never released but it has since seen the light of day now.

oh yeah, this was produced by Curtis Knight!

Happy 4th of July....

This is one from Halloween 2002 that really doesnt have much to do with Halloween. Just a bunch of great 45's put down to tape.

2/4/06 - 2/5/06 - Mix Tape

Another mix tape... This one from 2/4/06 & 2/5/06. 2006 was a pretty turbulent time in my life and from the looks of all these mix tapes i am finding a lot of them are from '06. Looks like i used making these as a sort of therapy... i know lots of alcohol was involved.... self medicating w/ liquor and music...

Ether - You Gotta Kill Me - In And Out

NJ punk from 1978. This aint no Grim Klone band but pretty decent. I actually really dig Ya Gotta Kill Me. In and Out... meh...

I've been looking for this one forever but refused to pay KBD prices. I waited it out and found it at the nice price. One step closer to completing my New Jersey punk and hardcore collection....

Adrenalin O.D. - Sentimental Abuse

Today i realized that i just don't do enough punk rock and hardcore posts so today two of my fave NJ HC bands together at last...! heh. A.O.D.'s Wacky Hijinx is a top 10 HC album for me. The only NJ album that rates higher is Mental Abuse Street's Of Filth. I was lucky enough to see and play with both bands a bunch of times back in the day. Did any band ever play as much as AOD? Man, those were fun times, young and dumb and full of cum... So here on this little ep from 1996 we have AOD doing a cover of the Mental Abuse classic Sock Woman!!! As well as a few re-workings of some classic AOD stuff. AS only AOD can do. Both bands are playing again and even tho Mental Abuse is a far different band than they were back then it was still fun seeing them. I still have not been able to catch AOD as of yet. DAMN IT! being a grown up sucks sometimes.... The only question left to answer is: IS SID SLUDGE ALIVE OR DEAD???
