Salty Holmes - The Ghost Song

Happy halloween...

This is a long time "halloween" type 45 want. Many moons ago i found a 10' copy on eBay and showed a buddy of mine who also collects halloween type records. Little did i know that he thought i was showing him so he could bid on it. But i was just showing him because i was psyched to find a copy. Well what happened was he outbid me on the damn thing..... So when this one came up recently i went whole hog and finally own a copy. There, now you know why i own this and paid way to much for it..... Enjoy.

Da - Dark Rooms / White Castles

DA (sometimes printed as "DA!") was an early entry into Chicago's punk scene. The mostly female group differed from their contemporaries, sporting a moody art-punk sound instead of the more formulaic hardcore style that other Chicago bands were converging on at the time. The band issued one 7" single, one 12" EP and appeared on the "Busted At OZ" compilation. They split in 1982.

Wanda Jackson - I Don't Wanna Go

I was lucky enough to get to see Wanda Jackson years ago. Somehow that night my wife wound up doing shots with Bruce Springsteen. Wanda was great. When I first started really collecting records one of the first 45's i picked up at my old flea market spot was a copy of "Funnel Of Love", which i still love today. So i still pick up most stuff i see by her even though most of it comes no where near the greatness of that 45. This is a nice little cut from 1960 but the killer here is the fuzzed out tremolo guitar solo. Pretty wild and psychedelic for 1960. Actually the fuzzy guitar is present throughout the whole song but is knocked back by Wanda's loud in the mix vocals and orchestration, but right at the 1:11 mark the fuzz lets loose for a few seconds. Wish it was a bit more wild and a bit longer. Still pretty cool.

Amnesia - Ahh...

Pretty good hard rock that borders on bonehead cruncher and glam-ish rock. Sort of sounds a tiny bit like Rose Tattoo. Much better than their 2nd single.

Released in 1974, this is the ultra-rare, white label Promotional Only 7", 45rpm EP by the Tampa, FL trio of 20-year-old power poppers, Amnesia "Ahh..." (3:40) This is Earshot Records TC-1128 The songs were recorded at Bee Jay Recording Studios in Winter Park, FL, and engineered by Bill Vermillion.

Released out of Winter Park, Florida.

Wild Vybrashons - One Track Mind

Cool fuzzed out garage version of the Knickebockers track 'One Track Mind'. Could have used a bit more fuzz IMHO. Still cool.

Fuck This Summer Heat - Devil Dick Mix #30

Seriously, fuck this heat..... It;s been as hot as i can remember this summer. No air conditioner in this record room so let it be known i melted making this stupid mix. You are welcome.

I'm pretty sure this is mix #30. Points for guessing the tracks. Not really, but it's more fun this way....

PS - I deleted the first track which appeared to be the one causing the permission denied from media fire. If that doesn't work, well, fuck it. I can't find any other place to house a file this large...

Guess so far:

1 - Rodriguez - Only Good For Conversation

7 - Baker Gurvitz Army - People

9 - Third World War - Ascension Day

13 - Moloch - Helping Hand / Maverick Woman Blues

15 - Bubble Puppy - Thinkin'About Thinkin'

Elmer Conovitch & The Camarillo Crew - Born To Be Wild

The fact that things like this exist on vinyl makes me happy. I have no idea why it does but i'm glad it does. It's pure chaos. At one point you can hear the woman scream "Let's wreck this place!" And it sounds like Elmer yelps "Fuck" "Fuck" and shit is just flying around in the background and it ends with the woman weakly coughing as if she has hit her max destruction. It makes me wish a video existed to see what was really going on..... "Sounds a bit like something "Wild man Fischer" would do. As a young kid i loved the Dr. Demento show so i guess that is why shit like this still appeals to me. I love it. You guys got anymore weirdo stuff to recommend????

Unknown Artist - Where Is Etan Patz?

I have no idea who this is but it's a pretty weird record. Etan Patz was apparently abducted on his way to school and his body was never found. Totally weird to make a record about this event, but here it is. Maybe it never came out because this is just a test pressing and i can find zero info about a song called "Where Is Etan Patz". Bizarre.

Gil Bateman - Daddy Walked In Darkness

Gil Bateman from 1965 with a Hoyt Axton cover of Daddy Walked In Darkness. A nice fuzzy buzzy version that is more reminiscent of the song House Of The Rising Sun done by The Animals a year before, but who's first known recording was done by a 16 year old girl named Georgia Turner in 1937....
