Chuck Thompson and His Rock-A-Billies - Devil's Sweetheart
Here is a fairly rare mild rockabilly type country number on a rare label, Granite Records G560 out of Mt. Airy, NC from 1965.... blah blah blah... '65 seems late for this but whatever... i read that on the very acurate internet...
This one goes out to the devil's actual sweetheart; the one, the only, the angelic JJB.
Don't ask me how the devil wound up with an angel but i ain't complaining. (least not today) :)

1965 is about right for that single. I have Chuck and his Rock-A-Billies doing "Baby Put Your Arms Around Me" (written by Artie Resnick and Kenny Young - same guys who wrote "Good Lovin'" - and they didn't start writing together until 1964) on the Jax label out of Bricktown, NJ from 1964. But it sounds like 50s rockabilly!
Thanks Richard, It certainly does sound 50's & not 65.
and was jax really out of Bricktown NJ???
i used to live right next town over in lakewood, nj...
kewl info!
Hey all,
Yep it was out of Bricktown, now just called Brick, NJ. Chuck was my uncle. My dad Bob was the Rock-a-Billies drummer. Chuck was also the owner of Music City, a musical instrument store in Brick, NJ in the Brick Mall on Old Hooper Ave and Brick Blvd, later moving to 487 Brick Blvd. Chuck passed away about 40 years ago (1969) and his brother Bob, the drummer passed away in 1996.
Hope this helps in some way as more background.

OMG! This is a record I have been looking for for years! My father is Fred Golden and he did the vocals on this. I lost my one and only copy in a fire and have searched the internet for years. So happy to finally hear this song again! I remember Chuck and the guys in the band from when I was really young. Don't remember too much as my parents divorced when I was 5, but I do remember the band!
