Phantom's Devine Comedy - Devil's Child

Shortly after this lp was released Doors fans caused quite a stir claiming the mysterious lead singer of Phantom's Devine Comedy was none other than the fat bloated and drunk corpse come back to life of Jim Morrison...

Think The Doors with a much heavier sound and a more polished singer and you have Phantom's Divine Comedy Part 1. An album steeped in mystery due to the un-credited musicians and of course, Phantom himself. Yes, the similarities to Jim Morrison are uncanny. The lyrics are also Doors/Morrison territory. Released in 1974.

Either way this rather rare lp for a major label "Capitol" is a nice slice of Doors inspired psych rock even if it ain't the Lizard King...

It's a favorite around our house. That "Spiders will dance song.." is hilarious. The "part 1" on the cover suggests that Phantom had more to say but I guess Capitol had other ideas.
