The Kruisers - C'Mon Sweet Baby / Karen
A side is a pretty crude riff on Bo Diddley.... I read somewhere that someone called it "punk". I wouldn't go that far but teenage ineptness comes to mind, which is fine by me. I LOVE that sort of thing. Couple kids in the garage that stole a few of Dad's Pabst Blue Ribbons and cranking up their Sears Silvertone guitars and amps and going for it. The flip is a try at a more pop sound but it still comes off as crude and teenage. Good single.

Country Aces - Last Letter / Going Out
Single sided acetate with 2 songs on the one side. ====
A side is a slow haunt - Side B is a swinging' bopper. ===

Country Aces - Last Letter / Going Out
The Chaparral Trio - Without You / Roxanne
Pretty crazy 45 here. Side A "With Out You" is a straight pop song. It sounds more like 64/65 than the heavy 1969 psych rocker that the B side "Roxanne" is. Doesn't even sound like the same band... Wish the B side went another 3 seconds of riffing guitar fuzz... B side RULES! ====

Pat O'Connor - City Lights
Don't let Pat's suit and tie and short hair fool you. This dude should have been on yacht in southern California with a silk shirt opened to the bottom, chest hair flying in the wind with a silver coke spoon around his neck. Or hanging out in a dive bar on Long Island with Billy Joel in the 70's... ===
I almost passed on this in my local thrift by the looks of the cover. It had to be another bad lounge cover song record right? But i took a look at the back and saw that Pat wrote all the songs and at least one track has lead guitar. Then i saw it was recorded in Philly and he sings about Clancy's bar. I'm sure there is more than one in Philly area but i used to live right across the street from Clancy's so i bought it. It's surprisingly pretty awesome. ====
I'm not sure who broke Pat's heart, but someone did and here he is singing all about it, and pouring that broken little heart out. Songs are well put together soft rock. Tons of flanger and chorus all over the place and nice Fender Rhodes. Pat must have been listing to The Eagles and lots of Billy Joel. ===
I've listen to this 3 times now and i like it better each time. A local Philly gem. I wonder what ever happened to Patty boy??? ===

Detective - It Takes One To Know One
I saw Detective open for Kiss in 1977 at MSG. I guess it was in support of this album seeing as this was released in 77. I didnt really dig them at all back then but have grown to dig them over the years. ====

Unknown Instrumental Metal Band - Demo Tape
Still digging through tapes. This one sounds familiar like this is an unfinished tape that SHOULD have vocals but was passed around pre-vox added? The sound is very NJ in the 90's. Like i'm sure who ever this is played with Ripping Corpse, Times Up, Human Remains, maybe Dead Guy or Dirge too!? and all that other metal crossover stuff that was going on at The Fastlane in Asbury Park at the time.... Anyone know who this is?!?!?!???? ====
EDIT: It's been determined that this in FACT the band Dirge from N.J. without vocals!
