Released in 1966 under the title "Come And Take A Ride In My Boat" on the Attack label. The next year it would be recorded by Every Mother's Son, whose remake would reach the Billboard top ten. These guys are said to have changed their name to The Ohio Express however...
From Wikipedia: "Though marketed as a band, it would be more accurate to say that the name "The Ohio Express" served as a brand name used by Jerry Kasenetz and Jeffrey Katz's Super K Productions to release the music of a number of different musicians and acts... Several other "Ohio Express" hits were the work of other, unrelated musical groups, including The Rare Breed"
Wow, a great country song from Union Beach NJ...??? WTF? I have no idea how that happened because there is nothing "country" about Union Beach New Jersey. Union Beach is nessled in between Keansburg and Keyport right on the BEAUTIFUL Raritan bay.
I have no idea who Lee Edmond was or his Country Stingers, but this song suits me just fine either way....
Two great rocking guitar instrumentals from 1964 here today. Don't know why they put Mustang as the A side because Heads Up shits all over it... Heads up originally done by Freddie King.
Not sure who the Pace-Setters were but this record rules!
