I think this is The Spinners first record from 1961? And it's a far cry from the smoother soul sounds they would later find huge success with in the 70's and 80's, this is a straight rocker with nice stinging guitar work. Tight.

The Children or Yesterday's Children as they are most know as, put out a killer hard rock masterpiece of an album on Map City in 1970. I have no idea why they are only "the children" on this 45 and at first i thought this might be a different version but after listening to the album again the seem to be the same? Anyone? This is a straight ripper!!!

A non album cut by SRC (The Scot Richard Case) out of Detroit. This is from 1970. This may not be a top SRC cut but not being on any of the albums makes the 45 the only place you can hear it. A Bluesy rock tune with some semi fuzzy guitars. Meh.... I'd rather hear "Black Sheep" or "No Secret Destination" but the weirdo collector in me had to have it for the "collection".... Enjoy, or not....

A great heavy prog instrumental on the A side which for my money ends to soon and abrupt. Seems like they start start really cooking and then they were like "shit that's all that is going to fit on the 45!" and end the jam suddenly. Too bad really, because like most proggy goodness i could listen to these stoners ramble semi aimlessly for hours. Side B is more of a crunchy rocker with a great fuzzed out solo. Reminds me of maybe Stepson or Kin Ping Meh a bit. Ace 45.

Couple of cool heavy rock psych jams with a slight southern rock vibe by The Headstones on the Rome Records Inc. label out of Columbus Ohio. Years unknown, but they put a killer heavy rock album out in 1974 under just "Headstone" called Still Looking. And I'm still looking for a copy for years now..... One of these days i will get a copy. Chill unknown hippie vibes from 1972 on the Susquehanna label by The 13th Floor. The A side sounds a bit more like a mid 60's pop garage tune than 1972 to my ears. Side B is more moody with mellow organ vibes that picks up 1/2 way through with a groovy bass line and then a nice little guitar solo. Going great with hot coffee and pouring rain outside my back door. Dig it.

Very little info on the net this one, but what I found was it is from 1980 and they were from Cleveland. If that is true it's very metal for 1980 and pre-dates a lot of NWOBHM and west coast thrash by years. Pretty cool, dirty & heavy as balls "biker rock". The slightly inept playing makes this a perfect fit for the stupid metal shit I love.
