Well this is no Slim Whitman, no one call quite yodel like him but here is a more tame and polished version of a song written by Tex Owens and done by Slim Whitman that i actually really dig... i know, why you ask? I have no fucking idea but i do....

The yodel melody on this record is stolen by Terry Allen for the intro to "Truckload of Art".
Tony Russell told me the yodelled melody originated in prewar Norway, but perhaps that was a wind-up.
Oh my God! The Tennessee Plowboy! Eddy Arnold! I love the hell out of this song. Always did. What an amazingly smooth voice. This guy was huge in his day - fame is fleeting, though. Check out Make the World Go Away. Great stuff.

Did you know that Eddy Arnold along with Little Roy Wiggins on the steel guitar sold 75,000,000 records , setting the record for the most records sold in the 20th century.
OMG indeed- this songs was such a monster hit in our house when i was a little kid, it's still burned into my brain- so i'm catching a copy here to share with those who did not have the good luck i did...
