The Castle Kings - You Can Get Him Frankenstein
You better call Transylvania 999!!!
“You Can Get Him Frankenstein”, co-written by Phil Spector and Ahmet Ertegun, just one more of the many GREAT rock and roll records inspired by the golden age of horror movies.
The Castle Kings themselves were a vocal group who cut two singles for Atlantic records before promptly disappearing into obscurity.
Anyone know who these guys were???
Also, stay tuned for a spacial joint mix that The Devil's Music put together with Deacon Brimstone over at Blues For The Red Boy where we drank red wine and beer, watched gay Halloween specials from the 70's and put together some GREAT Halloween cuts for you just in time for your Halloween parties!

Whats up man. Any chance I could get a small shoutout? Looks like you got some more regulars than me. I only got 6 more posts before Halloween.
The guitarist for the Castle Kings was Ed Adlum, who later directed Invasion of the Blood Farmers and produced Shriek of the Mutilated. He's also the editor of Cashbox magazine.
...most excellent, been dancing to it instead of working. Thanx a bunch!! :)
Great tune! I'd never heard this one. Thanks.
Jimmy Walker from the Knickerbockers/Righteous Brothers and Solo was a member of The Castle Kings. Frank Tinelli who sang lead on You Can Get Him Frankenstein came up with the idea of the song. Jimmy tells the story of how they were waiting to get a ride and Ahmet heard them singing this song and got them into the studio the next day. They got to meet Tommy Dowd, Phil Spector and even Ornette Coleman through their contract with Atlantic.
Hi everyone, Im Frank Tinelli, lead singer and guitarist of the Castle Kings. Its been great reading the comments about our group. For the past 50 plus years I have been involved in police work. Im a retired Detective Lieutenant, and retired Director of Security for a large company.
Thanks to the internet I have been in contact with members of The Castle Kings, as well as two other special friends of our band. Roger and Raf, both great guys.
KEEP THE MUSIC PLAYING !!!!!
Frank!

Thanks Frank, I've had so many good moments with this song. At several parties in the early 60's. Together with the Monster mash Frankestein was a disc that made everyone wtumble around. A great song for great parties. Cheers, I'm Wille R.
Interesting. I play Loch Lomond with my band. I wonder what key you did record it in ? Cause on the most records it's in between G# and A . Just a curious guy from Sweden /
