Yo Dick- if you're in the Austin area, here's a few BBQ recommendations: Snow's in Lexington (Saturday AM only), Frederick's in Austin, Salt Lick in Dripping Springs (beef ribs on Sundays), Krietz' and Smitty's in Lockhart, Luling City Market, and Louis Mueller in Taylor. the story about this track is : nitzsche was lookin' for a "howlin' wolf" alike singer....cooder said there's only one - DON VAN VLIET..so cooder went to mojave to win him for the project, but don refused, but agreed to come back to l.a. to have a look, cause he had to go anyway...so back in the studio, cooder remembers the way don was treating him during his time with the magic band, locked him in and told him that he'll not open, until the take is done...don needed one take!
