Most of Mr. Horton's stuff i can do without, but for a while there in the late 50's he was rockin and boppin with the best of them. Lots of folks tried their hand at Rock and Roll after it went big time. This track and Honky Tonk Hardwood Floor being my 2 faves from Johnny.

Johnny Horton made way more than a couple of cool numbers. Though not a fan of the "history sagas" he cut the guy had a bunch of great rockers. Check the Bear Family cd... so much goodness.
westex, i def have to check out some more. i only have his stuff on 45 so i've only ventured so far.... i'm sure there are a bunch more rockers that i will have to discover! thanks for the heads up!
