The Vapors - Sixty Second Interval

The Vapors were a new wave band that i guess is best known for the song which i think is a sly modern double entendre for masturbation... i dig that song, but if your old like me i don't have to hear it ever again.... it's kind of like a new wave Stairway To Heaven or Freebird. Great but... This song that follows it on the Vapors 1980 New Clear Days album is a keeper and i could listen to this one for a long time... the whole album is actually pretty good. Too bad these guys never got past turning Japanese...

Hey.

I agree that you should keep posting. You are needed. Just listened to The Hawks because I have (somewhere) that LV Grind comp. Boy, I wore that out.

I got here because I have a 1957 Columbia LP of the Philip Morris Country Music Show that features Ronnie Self (Big Fool). So I wanated to check out Houdini.

I hope to soon post MP3s on my lame blog after I tweak it. It's more like a holding area for my own opinions rather than a real blog.

I used to have that LP, good stuff I hadn't heard it in awhile. Was there any truth that you might stop posting? I hope not. This is good shit. Great music with a tight little description. I agree with Brain, you are needed

That is a very nice track. Like many people, I'd never got past Turning Japanese - probably never even played the b-side...

But I've always loved the cover - really captured the nuclear paranoia crouching behind the everyday that will be familiar to anyone who grew up during tailend of the cold war.

Gosh, you'll be playing the Jags next - "I gutcher nummer...."

;)

Missed this one before. Deep digs on this band. How is "Magnets"? I saw it awhile ago, and considered picking it up for the album art (done by the "Where's Waldo" guy... how fucking rad is that?), but I wasn't sure how much more new wave cheese I'd like on my music burger... though I've been listening to a lot of Squeeze lately, so my tolerance is likely higher than usual.
