2 great instrumentals from 1959 by The Shieks on the Trine label, which is fairly "rare" i suppose...? This became a bit of a "hit" and MGM Records picked it up and released it later.

BTW, I've been discovering that whenever MGM picked up a single, they'd EQ it to be "cleaner" (not as strong) and would often add reverb and/or background singers.
It's better that you found an original.
(The only example I can think of off-hand is "Door Banger aka 94 Second Surf" where the original Norman Petty release has a really strong sound, but the MGM promo is a milder mix with reverb and female background vocals.)
